During a meeting in Beijing with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, both nations emphasized the critical importance of maintaining open passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic waterway is pivotal for global energy supplies, as it is a conduit for a substantial portion of the world’s oil and gas shipments. Recent disruptions in shipping activity due to heightened tensions have brought the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to the forefront of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
